Betting Tips
While a lot has been said about the title race where Manchester City now has an upper advantage after beating Arsenal on Wednesday, there is a tough duel going on at the bottom of the table.
Apart from the Premier League, there is a chunk of games in the Laliga, Serie A, and Bundesliga this Saturday. We analyze some of the games of the day.
FC Barcelona v Betis
Barcelona is clearly going to win the title bar any calamity between now and the end of the season. They are eleven points clear at the top of the table and have relatively easier games coming up in their next seven games.
While the title seems to have been decided, there is a tight race coming up in the race for the Champions League. Betis who are currently placed fifth are on 49 points just six points off the Champions League places. Sociedad who are currently occupying the fourth place still have dates against Barcelona, Sevilla, Real Madrid, and Atletico Madrid so Betis will be hoping that their opponents can falter as they continue winning their games.
Playing Barcelona is a tough duel but Betis has no option but to get the results needed if they are to make the cut for automatic qualification for the Champions League.
Verdict
Barcelona’s recent form has been somewhat inconsistent, with 1 win, 2 draws, and 2 losses in their last 5 matches, and lost to Rayo Vallecano in their last game. In their 5 most recent home matches, they won 3 times, drew 1, and lost 1, indicating a strong performance in their home stadium.
Betis on the other hand played out a goalless draw with Real Sociedad in their previous La Liga match. During the game, Real Betis had 58% possession and made 10 attempts on goal, with only 1 being on target.
Tip: Barcelona to win with Over 2.5 Goals/Lewandowski to score

Brentford v Nottingham Forest
Brentford’s European hopes look bleak following the resurgence of Aston Villa in the league. With only five games left, they will have to win all the remaining games and hope that the teams above them fail to win if they are to finish in European places. Both Liverpool, Tottenham, Brighton, and Aston Villa are above them on the table with Fulham not behind them too.
Nottingham are on the lower end of the table and their win against Brighton on Wednesday gave them hope that they can maintain their Premier League status. They are just a point above the relegation zone and three below 15th-placed AFC Bournemouth. There is a belief they can stay afloat but will need to start winning games starting with this Saturday’s tie away to Brentford.
Verdict
Brentford ended a six-game winless run and piled further misery upon a downtrodden Chelsea side on Wednesday night as they earned a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge. The Bees have only lost twice at home in the league this season.
Forest on the same Wednesday ended an 11-game winless run with a superb 3-1 home win over European-chasing Brighton in midweek to move out of the relegation zone. However, they have the worst away record in the division and have lost six on the trot on their travels.
Forest will have been buoyed by their win over Brighton, but Brentford should use home advantage to earn a second successive league victory.
Tip: Win for Brentford and Over 2.5 Goals
