USA Women will be taking on the Netherlands Women in what will be a rematch of the 2019 Women’s World Cup final.
This will be the second game of the tournament for both teams with the USA having opened their campaign with a win over Vietnam on a day that the Netherlands edged out Portugal. With the 3-0 win, USA has now recorded 10 consecutive victories, racking up 24 goals and only conceding on two occasions. They have also won 14 and drawn one of their previous 15 World Cup games, since losing on penalties to Japan in the 2011 final.
On their side, the Netherlands know that any positive result against the USA will put them in a good position heading into the final group game with the winner set to lead the group as they all seek a leaner opponent in the knockout.

Since losing 2-0 to the USA in the 2019 World Cup final, the Dutch have faced the Stars and Stripes on two occasions. They were beaten in a friendly in November 2020, before running the USA close in the quarter-finals at the Tokyo Olympics, but the contest ultimately ended in a penalty shootout defeat.
Team News
There is no need for USA boss Vlatko Andonovski to change his side that gave them all the points in their opening group game. Portland Thorns midfielder Lindsey Horan picked up a booking in the win over Vietnam, leaving her one yellow card away from a suspension but she is still expected to start against a team they consider the only threat in the group.
Netherlands boss Andries Jonker may also opt for consistency and name an unchanged starting XI.
