Football Prediction
Borussia Dortmund will win their first Bundesliga title in 11 years if they can beat Mainz on Saturday.
It has been a tight race at the top between Dortmund and Bayern Munich with RB Leipzig handing the Black and Yellow side a perfect chance to win this season’s title after beating Bayern in the past week. Dortmund can still win the title even if they drop points provided Bayern fails too away to mid-table Cologne.
Mainz are not pushovers too as they did Dortmund a huge favour by taking down Bayern on Matchday 29. The result fueled their hopes of a top-six finish – as well as BVB’s title ambition – but an alarming run of defeats to Wolfsburg, Schalke, Eintracht Frankfurt, and VfB Stuttgart, has put European qualification beyond them.

Team News
Dortmund and Terzic are without their first-choice fullback pairing, Thomas Meunier and Raphael Gurreiro. The Belgian and Portugal internationals were due to be fit for the final game but might not make it for the match. Jude Bellingham should return for this game and should be a boost given that he has been owning the midfield for the Black and Yellow’s for the last couple of games.
Six-goal winter signing Ludovic Ajorque is suspended, so head coach Bo Svensson will have to decide whether to stick with Aymane Barkok or recall Jae-sung Lee. Andreas Hanche-Olsen is available again following a one-match ban of his own, though, and is expected to go straight back into the back three at the expense of Dominik Kohr. Right-back Silvan Widmer and injury-hit forward Jonathan Burkardt remain on the sidelines for a Mainz side that could finish as high as eighth or as low as 11th.
Probable Line Ups
Dortmund XI: Kobel – Wolf, Süle, Hummels (c), Ryerson, Brandt, Can, Bellingham, Malen, Haller, Adeyemi
Mainz XI: Zentner (c), Hanche, Olsen, Bell, Fernandes, da Costa, Barreiro, Kohr, Caci, Stach, Ingvartsen, Onisiwo

Verdict
Dortmund won the reverse fixture and is expected to do the same in front of their home fans on the final day of the season. Why the Black and Yellow are one of the teams with the most goals in the division, they’ve been conceding too so goals should be expected in this game.
Verdict: Over 2.5 ✅
Anytime Goalscorer
Julian Brandt❌
Brandt has nine goals and eight assists and will be a key contributor for Borussia Dortmund in this game. The fixture however has always been for captain Marco Reus who has scored more goals against Mainz than any team he’s faced (14) with the German set to win his first Bundesliga title at the age of 34.
Karim Onisiwo✅
Onisiwo is Mainz’s nine-goal top scorer this term, despite failing to fire in his last seven outings. It’s a new personal best for the Austrian, who is, however, goalless in 11 previous meetings with Dortmund.
