Football Predictions

Arsenal is just one of the three teams to have collected maximum points from the first two games and they will be looking to maintain that perfect record when they host Fulham on Saturday.

The Gunners have been forced to hold on in their victories over Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace, although there would’ve been great satisfaction from Monday night’s triumph given that they were reduced to ten men following Takehiro Tomiyasu’s dismissal.

Arsenal host a Fulham side who have made an unconvincing start to the campaign. After Bernd Leno ensured they walked away from Goodison Park with three points on Matchday 1, the Cottagers were brushed aside by west London rivals Brentford last weekend.

H2H/Stats

Arsenal wins: 42

Draws: 11

Fulham wins: 8

Team News

Tomiyasu’s red card means he’ll miss Saturday’s game, and with Timber still out, Mikel Arteta will have to look for a player to slot at the right back position even though the return of Oleksandr Zinchenko should give him options in defence. Defender Gabriel could also come back into the starting XI with a change being made further up the pitch. Kai Havertz is the most likely to drop out which means Declan Rice could be utilised higher up the pitch with Zinchenko inverting alongside Thomas Partey.

For Fulham, they will have to do without star man Aleksandar Mitrovic who has left for Saudi Arabia. Tim Ream’s dismissal against the Bees means summer arrival Calvin Bassey is poised to start at the back, while Joao Palhinha will almost certainly make his first start of the season after recovering from a shoulder injury.

Probable Line-Ups

Arsenal XI: Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Partey, Rice, Odegaard; Saka, Nketiah, Martinelli.

Fulham XI: Leno; Tete, Diop, Bassey, Robinson; Palhinha, Reed; Wilson, Pereira, De Cordova Reid; Jimenez.

Verdict

Fulham have proved over and again that they are no pushovers when it comes to troubling the ‘big’ teams in the Premier League. They will give a fight at the Emirates but Arsenal’s quality should carry the day.
