Netherlands host France in the UEFA Euro Championship Qualifiers on Friday evening with both teams looking for wins as they seek to wrap things up early.
When these two sides met earlier in the qualifying campaign it was France that dominated proceedings, running out 4-0 winners. Ronald Koeman will be hoping that his players can perform a little better than that in front of their own fans at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam. The Dutch did win both of their last two games in the group to set themselves up nicely for this one. But it could be that the game against Greece turns out to be the more crucial fixture though, if things don’t go right here.
France could theoretically still be caught in the race for a Euro 2024 berth. Les Bleus have though won all five of their games so far – scoring 11 and conceding none – and will likely cruise into the finals by winning Group B.

Hosts Netherlands will be without the services of Cody Gakpo, Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt with all ruled out with different injuries. Manager Ronald Koeman should however have able replacements with Xavi Simons set to be given another go, while Steven Bergwijn is expected to return up front.
Didier Deschamps has his own defensive injury problems and may have to slot both Hernandez brothers into his back four here. He also has a choice of players up front – but is likely to go with the tried and tested Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappé.
