Wales vs. USA Match preview

Liberty Stadium in Swansea will be on the blaze as Wales welcome the USA in an International Friendly on Thursday.

The Dragons will be looking to keep their positive run going to this game, though they will be without their Head Coach Ryan Giggs, having stepped down for all three upcoming matches while an investigation is conducted into an off-the-field matter. Wales have been in fine form, having lost only one of their last nine matches.

The performances may not have been quite good, but Dragon can be motivated with their return back to their track for it has been a difficult year for them in the history of football. On the other hand, USA will be confident going into this clash, for they have been performing quite well; won 4-1 against Canada, 4-0 against Cuba in CONCACAF Nations League, and previously in International Friendly won 1-0 against Costa Rica.

Match Facts

  • The Dragon have registered six clean-sheets of nine in all competition
  •  The USA has registered three clean-sheets in nine played matches in all competition.

USA Team News

USA, have Borussia Dortmund midfielder, Gio Reyna, one of 10 players in line to make their senior international debut against either Wales.

The MLS season reaching its conclusion, Gregg Berhalter has a 24-man group of mainly European-based players, with Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic among them.

This will be the United States’ first match since February, so they will have a different look to them on the back of that 1-0 victory over Costa Rica

Wales vs. USA Prediction

USA have been in impressive form, winning four of their last five and keeping three clean sheets, while Wales have lost just one of their last 11 games in all competitions.

Wales has conceded only once in 3-0 defeat against England in seven outings and should have enough quality to overcome USA in this first of three straight home matches.
