Football Predictions
Manchester United will be hosting Everton at Old Trafford on Saturday in another important clash from Erik ten Hag as he seeks to consolidate the top four position.
After beating Brentford in midweek, a win again will not only give them the needed confidence as they head for their midweek UEFA Europa League game against Sevilla but will keep them at per with Newcastle United who are just above them on goal difference.
Everton in the end are placed 16th on the log and are not yet safe from relegation. A win will not only boost their survival chances but give them the belief that they can actually match anyone in the remaining games of the season.
H2H / Stats
Both teams have met 210 times in their history with Man United winning 92 to Everton’s 71 with the remaining 47 ending in draws. The Sea Dyche side have won only 1 of their last 29 away games against United with their last victory in their travels coming in 2013.
United have won 38 league games against Everton in the Premier League era and have only recorded more success against Tottenham Hotspur.
But Everton can cling on the hope of getting goals as they have found the abc of the net in each of their last nine games against Manchester United in the Premier League.
Erik ten Hag however goes into the game as clear favorites as his team has won both their games against Everton this season and have defeated the Toffees three times in a single campaign on only two previous occasions.
Team news
United are sweating over the fitness of left back Luke Shaw who was withdrawn in the first half in their midweek win over Brentford and should the Englishman who recently signed a new deal fail to recover on time, Tyler Malacia is expected to slot in his position.
The good news for the hosts is that midfielder Christian Eriksen has returned to group training this week and might play some part in the game after being pictured with the rest of United squad in their Thirsday training sessions. The club however will still miss the services of Casemiro who is serving the final match of his ban. Other absentees include Alejandro Garnacho, Tom Heaton and Donny van de Beek.
As for the visitors, Everton will have to do without the services of midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure who was sent off in their last game against Tottenham. Dominic Calvert Lewin and Andros Townsend are long term absentees while reserve full-back Ruben Vinagre is in line to return to the squad after a month out.
Verdict
United might have struggled to get goals in recent games but their home form is something that shouldnt be taken for granted. They will be hunting for their 23rd home win out of 28 games and with their past record against Everton, this is a match they wouldnt want to lose. Everton has a knack of scoring goals in this tie and while United might be an outright winner, they might concede in the process.
We are backing a United win with an Over 2.5 score in the tie.

Anytime goal scorers
Marcus Rashford
Who else should be scoring for the home team? Since the Premier League returned after the World Cup, Rashford has more Premier League goals than any other player (11). That tally is more than three teams have managed in that time – Crystal Palace (nine), Bournemouth (nine) and Southampton (10). In his aim of clocking individual milestones, this is another game where he would want to be on the score sheet.
Alex Iwobi
This might be a weird choice but the Nigerian international has started every Premier League game since Dyche took over, and of all outfielders, only James Tarkowski and Dwight McNeil have played more minutes.
Mainly operating from the right of midfield, Iwobi has the industry needed to fit the mould of what Dyche wants and would not only want to join play but be part of the goals with the team having had a tendency of bringing up different goal scorers under Dyche.
