Euro 2020 quarter-finals enter the second day with Ukraine playing host to England while the Czech Republic taking on Denmark on Saturday.

Ukraine Vs. England

This weekend, the last 8 in Euro 2020 will see Ukraine take on England at the Stadio Olimpico. Ukraine started the campaign with a disappointing result of a 3-2 defeat against the Netherlands but in the second match, they were back to the contest with a 2-1 victory over North Macedonia. In the third match, they lost 1-0 against Austria, they progressed to the quarter-finals with a 2-1 over ten-man Sweden. The Blue and Yellow were held 1-1 draw in regular time which forced the match to enter extra-time only Artem Dovbyk to put Ukraine through with a goal on the 120th minute.

The Three Lions, on the other hand, qualified to this stage with 10 points after winning thrice and registered a barren draw against Scotland in the second match of the campaign.

England cruised through to the quarter-finals with a 2-0 win against soccer giants Germany in a most anticipated and thrilling showdown. Despite having a low ball possession they were able to capitalize on the mistakes of their opponents while attacking they looked more dangerous than their counterparts. As for the awaited last 8, the Three Lions are heading favorites and soccer fans are expected to come out to support their teams.

In the last four encounters, these teams have met thrice in World Cup Qualifiers UEFA and once in European Championship. England were able to register a narrow 1-0 against the Blue and Yellow in the Euro 2012 while Ukraine beat the ten-man England 1-0 in the WC Qualifiers back 2009. The previous match ended in a barren draw.

Czech Republic Vs. Denmark

The Czech Republic will be facing Denmark in the last 8 on Saturday evening at Baku Olympic Stadium. The National Team opened the competition with a 2-0 win over Scotland but in the second match, they recorded a 1-1 draw only to lose 1-0 against England. In the last match to qualify to the last eight, Czech Republic headed to the clash as underdogs only to beat ten-man Netherlands 2-0. Goals from Tomas Holes and Patrik Schick in the 68th and 80th minute respectively were enough for the National Team to cruise through to the quarter-finals.

The Danish Dynamite on the other hand, had a tough start after losing twice against Finland in the open game and 2-1 against Belgium. Denmark was back to the track with raining goals beating Russia 4-1 and against thrashing ten-man Wales 4-0, the results that secured them a slot to quarter-finals.

In the last four encounters, these pair have met thrice in World Cup Qualifiers 2010, 2012 and 2013 and a single International Friendly Games in 2016. Denmark have managed to register a single win in WC qualifiers back in 2013 while shared spoils in the rest three.
