Luton will finally play in their own backyard when they host West Ham at the Kenilworth Road on the first day of September.
The Premier League newbies have lost their opening two games and face a West Ham side that has started the season brilliantly racking up seven points from the first three games of the campaign. While losses against Brighton and Chelsea have blighted their start, Luton comes into the game with a morale-boosting win over Gillingham in the EFL Cup on Tuesday and they will be hoping that their home fans can carry them when the Hammers visit town.
Both teams have met just once with West Ham winning the tie but Luton should take some pride in the fact that they managed to score in the game.
Luton went down to Chelsea in their last outing where Raheem Sterling ran the show with a brace. The Hatters face another London club but without the services of Potts, Clark and Osho all of whom have injuries.
West Ham seems to be getting better with each game with James Ward-Prowse settling in well in his new environment. New signing Mohamed Kudus is expected to feature in the game but former Arsenal man Mavropanos might be sidelined due to a back injury. The Greek could be joined on the sidelines by Soucek, while Aguerd returns following a one-match suspension.
Luton XI: Kaminski (GK), Lockyer, Bell, Burke, Kaboré, Barkley, Nakamba, Chong, Giles, Morris & Adebayo
West Ham XI: Areola (GK), Ogbonna, Coufal, Zouma, Emerson, Ward-Prowse, Souček, Paquetá, Álvarez, Antonio & Bowen
West Ham comes to this game as clear favourites but football can be a tricky game to predict. With their home crowd behind them and going by their first two displays away from home in the Premier League, writing Luton off might be a mistake.
